SLAMTB is a scientific society with the goal of fostering and coordinating efforts among researchers interested in the diverse aspects relating to Tuberculosis and other Micobacteriosis. It also seeks to further the progress and dissemination of information regarding the general knowledge of this subject matter.
SLAMTB is both an extension and a continuation of the Red Latin-American and the Caribbean for Tuberculosis (RELACTB). In this regard, it has sought to preserve the fundamental values of integrating the researchers and professionals who work within the programs that seek to control Tuberculosis.
Article 1
The SLAMTB headquarters shall be the offices of the Secretary General.
Article 2
Members of SLAMTB: Shall be defined as those who attended the first Annual Meeting which took place in Pucón, Chile, October 23-26, 2006 and all successive meetings.
Non-Members of SLAMTB: Shall be defined as those who fail to attend two consecutive meetings. However, member status will be reinstated upon the attendance of a subsequent SLAMTB meeting. Article 3
SLAMTB shall be governed by a committee of at least five members who shall be elected by a majority vote at each annual meeting. These individuals will be from different Latin-American countries, one of whom shall be the Secretary General who, by general consensus, must be a resident of the next headquarter country.
Article 4
During the Annual Meeting, the General Assembly shall:
Select a new committee
Determine the venue of the next meeting
Recap outstanding items from the prior meeting
Define guidelines the society
